For Boston native Sariah, finding her voice of bravery was a process, not an event. Her music has inspired audiences from listening rooms in her current home, New York City, as well as crowded dance floors in the UK. Sariah’s collaboration with Grammy-winner Dave Audé “Aware, Alive, Awake” hit #23 on the Billboard Dance Chart. A series of successful remixes followed with Hype Machine favorites such as Reuben Keeney, as well as a collaboration with YouTuber Sam Tsui (their cover of Pharrell's Happy has over 2 million views), all of it empowering Sariah and encouraging her to raise her voice, to do something more.
Additionally, Sariah is spreading a message of female empowerment and awareness through her inspiring BRAVE concert series. BRAVE is a celebration of female strength through music, the show features all female performers on stage, with all proceeds donated to the Covenant House in Guatemala specifically. The Covenant House is an international support organization, and at the Guatemala location they focus on assisting women and children who have been victims of sex trafficking. Sariah is also thrilled to be an executive for @daddyjackrecords! Be sure to follow this incredible talent at @sariahmusicnow! “My name is Sandra Luz Otero. I’m a seasoned addiction specialist and a mixed media artist. My relationship with art began as early as age nine. I recall sitting on my bed and sketching everyday objects like a raincoat hanging on a vintage closet. In school I excelled in all art classes and was encouraged by teachers to choose this as a career path. Instead I went down another path and I went the road of Human Services. I pursued state licensing and education specializing in addictions. As a result, art took a back seat in my life. It wasn’t until my 30’s that I decided to put color back into my life. I began experimenting with different mediums and participated in a few community art exhibits. However, it wasn’t until the tragic loss of my mother that I began to explore painting as an outlet for emotions. My creations became abstract, wild and outside the lines. I would work and rework pieces with layers of what I see now as a storm of feelings on canvas. I discovered a new way of doing art which was spontaneous and authentic. It’s as if something in me was set free to express through paint what I couldn’t in words. This journey has brought me to where I am today. During the recent COVID-19 lock-down I began to rethink my life and decided to take a leap of faith. I began to create pieces and showcase them on social media. I created an Instagram business account for art and now working on developing an ETSY shop branded “SLO Studios Art”. One of my favorite sayings is “it’s never too late to be what you might’ve been”. My hope is to spread joy, color, inspiration and hope through this gift birthed by God, the Giver of all good gifts!” Sandra Luz Otero, Founder and Creator of SLO Studios Art Sandralite42@aol.com Instagram-sandraotero595 SLOstudiosart@etsy |
